We are born to tell stories

We like truth but not too much
The sun rises, the sun sets
Oh look how we pretend as such
We like truth but not too much
Marvelous tales woven in the clutch
Where correctness fails the muse begets
We like truth but not too much
The sun rises, the sun sets

  1. Triolet! Good to see such richness... and good to see someone working with the classical forms, and making it their own.

  2. Adorable!

sometimes I wonder whether too much truth would be beneficial or not for mankind. Your triolet is great! I wish I could write form poetry too.

    :(

    Kisses!

    1. Thank you, Kenia! I'm not very good at having patience for putting thoughts into form, so this was my first triolet, and if I can do it, so can you! Thank you for stopping by to read and comment :)

  5. Indeed we do! Triolets are both fun to read and fun to write. You honored the form here and spoke more than truth, too.

  9. Ahhhh! I guess this is a triolet, although I only know that form the comments. I was going to say, I love the repeating lines, they always ad punch and especially with that line and its hard hitting truth. And sometimes...to hell with the truth, give me chocolate coated lies.....with sprinkles....lol. I sooooo loved this.
